JumpStart World Subscription

I bought this product from my local retailer. Do I need a subscription to play the game?

The product you have purchased contains the first 2 Adventure Packs for that grade level. You can begin playing immediately.  Each grade contains a total of 12 Adventure Packs.  If you’d like to get the remaining 10 adventures for your child, you can subscribe to JumpStart World by logging in and accessing My Account.  Each time your child completes an Adventure Pack, your subscription will automatically download the next Pack for just $7.99!

How do I become a Subscribing member of JumpStart World?

If you already have a JumpStart World account and want to extend your membership, just login to this website (login located in the left hand column of this website).  Once logged in, access My Account where you will find links to subscribe to JumpStart World.

If you don’t yet own JumpStart World, go to the Knowledge Adventure store to buy the first 2 Adventures at shop.knowledgeadventure.com.

When does my credit card get charged?

Every time your child completes an Adventure Pack, a new pack is downloaded to your computer so your child can continue the learning games. Each time an Adventure Pack is downloaded your credit card is charged.

How long will my subscription last?

Each JumpStart World grade contains 12 Adventure Packs.  Your ongoing paid subscription will ensure all Adventure Packs are delivered, so your child can complete over 360 learning games, missions and lessons, which are correlated to meet national and state curriculum standards.

What is an Adventure Pack?

An Adventure Pack is one learning unit that contains at least 30 learning games and missions, plus 15 skills to master. Also, each contains new areas of the world to discover and one new badge to earn. A full grade contains 12 Adventure Packs.

How do I get additional Adventure Packs?

If you are already subscribed to JumpStart World, Adventure Packs will be automatically downloaded to your computer.  As long as your subscription is active, you will receive at least 1 Adventure Pack per month, and each time your child completes an Adventure Pack.

If you don’t yet own JumpStart World, go to the Knowledge Adventure store to buy the first 2 Adventures at shop.knowledgeadventure.com.

How can I add a child to my JumpStart World account?  

You can add up to 2 children to JumpStart World.  Your children’s names can be entered during product registration and by logging in to the Members' Website (login located in the left-hand column of this website). Upon login to the Members'  Website, access My Account where you will find an “Add Child” button.  Once a child is added to your account to play the game, you will not be able to remove them.

To add more than 2 children to your account, please call customer service at 1-800-545-7677.

How can I change the credit card being used for my subscription account?

Login to the Members'  Website (login located in the left hand column of this website).  Once logged in, access My Account and click the Personal Information tab.  Proceed to change your credit card information.

My child has finished all the Adventure Packs for the JumpStart World grade I bought. How do I get the next grade?

After your child completes JumpStart World, you can move them into the next grade by purchasing the CD for that grade from shop.knowledgeadventure.com.

If your child has finished Second Grade, at the present time we are unable to upgrade to the next level, but we are busy working on JumpStart World grades 3-5!

How do I print the badges my child has earned in JumpStart World?

Login to the Members'  Website (login located in the left hand column of this website).  Once logged in, access My Account. From My Account click the Print Badges link next to your child’s name. Fun Tip: Print the badges on magnetic paper and put them on your fridge!

How can my child redeem the Super Gems they earned in JumpStart World?

You can create a Super Gem Reward which your child can buy with every Super Gem they earn in JumpStart World. Every time your child earns a Super Gem, encourage them to click the Mailbox next to My Cabin.  This will link them to the Super Gem Reward Store where they can buy all the unique Super Gem Rewards you have created for them!

How do I create Super Gem Rewards?

Login to the Members' Website (login located in the left hand column of this website).  Once logged in, access My Account. From My Account click the Manage Rewards link next to your child’s name. You can create a total of 18 rewards for your child to choose from! What a great way to reward your child for learning!

How do I customize blimp messages that will appear in JumpStart World?

Login to the Members' Website (login located in the left hand column of this website).  Once logged in, access My Account. From My Account click the Create Blimp Messages link next to your child’s name and proceed to create a message.  The message will appear the next time your child logs on to play.  What a great way to be part of the game your child loves to play!

What are Parent Tips?

Parent Tips are fun educational activities that JumpStart World recommends based on your child’s level within the game. If there are lessons that your child needs more help in, Parent Tips will advise you on how to help.   Parent Tips are emailed to you and are also available online in the Members' Website.

Do I have to register in order to play?

Yes. In order to get the personalized game play experience for you and your child, you have to register.

When my child launches the game, the “Updating…” screen comes up for a really long time.  What’s going on?

The game is downloading new features and levels of the game.  If the updating screen stays on for longer than 20 minutes, call customer support at 1-800-545-7677.

I can’t see my imported picture or it doesn’t look right.

Make sure your picture is saved in JPG format before you try to import it.

Can I change holiday celebrations at any time?

Yes, you can. They are designed to follow a real-time calendar but you can change them any time you like. Just go to the Parent Center to change holiday celibrations.

No, the holidays apply to all children registered under your name.

Where can I check my child’s progress?

The Progress Report is located on the progress report tab in the Parent Center.  It is also emailed to you whenever your child completes a unit.

My Child is having a hard time navigating JumpStart World using the arrow keys and sometimes gets lost.

We recognize that for kids of this age range, especially kindergartners, it may be their first experience in a “real-time 3D game” that uses the arrow keys.  Practice makes perfect and if they get too frustrated, remember they can use the map to get around more quickly.  With some persistence, they’ll develop the hand-eye coordination and spatial-reasoning skills to move through the World without getting frustrated.

How does my child earn Super Gems? 

Your child needs to complete the entire learning unit (checkmarks on all lessons) in order to earn a Super Gem.

How does my child trade in Super Gems for items online?

Your child can access the Super Gem Online store by clicking through from the mailbox at the cabins within JumpStart World.  Once in the Super Gem Reward store, your child can redeem printable certificates that you have created for them.  In order to enable your child to access the online Super Gem Reward store, you need to check the box in the Parent Center that says “allow my child direct access to the Internet” under the Celebrations tab in order for them to have access.  Then just click on the mailbox and your child will be launched to the Super Gem Reward Store.  Remember to make printable rewards for your child online from the Members' Website!

My child wants to play the game on another computer.

You cannot transfer your saved game to another machine, so it’s better to play on the machine you registered with.

Learning Games

How do I know which lessons my child is having difficulty with?

The progress report tab in the Parent Center shows the current percentage for each lesson. A lesson is mastered at 80% or higher.

Can I change the content?

No.  The content was written in line with state standards.  There are reading and math standards that teachers follow in their classrooms.  We took those standards and developed learning games and content that was appropriate to each grade.

How does my child know how many rounds to complete in a learning game in order to master the lesson?

JumpStart World uses Adaptive Learning Technology, which determines if the child needs more exposure to questions to ensure mastery of a particular skill. The number of rounds a child needs to complete to master a lesson is unique to every child. If a child is answering the questions correctly, mastery is awarded after the minimum number of questions. (Usually between 5 – 10).  If a child is answering the questions incorrectly, more questions are given for more practice.

Some games move too fast or too slow.  Can I change some of these game settings?

In some learning games, you can change the level of game play. To do this, click the Exit Arrow button at the lower left. Click the Change Level bar of the level you want (easy, medium, or hard) and then click the Yes button.
